Preparing for Migration

You can copy user accounts, documents, programs, and settings from your old Mac during or after setting up your new Mac. However, before you begin, you must prepare both devices for the task ahead.

Updating system software

Updating the system software on an older Mac ensures that you run into fewer compatibility issues during the migration. Open System Preferences, select Software Update, and choose Update Now next to any pending updates. If you’ve already set up your new Mac, it’s best to update it as well.

Connect to the same Wi-Fi network

While it is possible to transfer data via Thunderbolt and Ethernet, you can avoid cables by using Wi-Fi. Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on both Macs and that they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Note. If you’re setting up your new Mac, you’ll have the option to connect it to your wireless network before you get to the Migration Assistant.

Turn off your antivirus software.

If you have a third-party antivirus utility on your old Mac, disable it before continuing to avoid connection issues. Select its status icon in the menu bar and look for the option that allows you to disable it temporarily. Also, disable everything on your new Mac.

Name your old Mac

To enable discovery with the Migration Assistant, you must name the old Mac. To do this, open the Apple menu and choose System Preferences > Sharing. Then add a recognizable name in the Computer Name field.

Connect to power

Moving large amounts of data between Macs can take a long time. Plug it into a power source to avoid draining your battery when moving to or from your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air.

Use Migration Assistant

If you haven’t used Setup Assistant on your new Mac yet, you can pause the Migration Assistant screen and start migrating right away. Or, you can access the Migration Assistant after setting up your device and still migrate your data. You must also use Migration Assistant on your old Mac at the same time. So put both Macs next to each other and follow the instructions below.

Advice. If you use Time Machine, you can restore data to your new Mac directly from an external drive without interacting with your old Mac at all.

1. Open the Migration Assistant on the new Mac and on the old Mac. To do this, open Launchpad and select Other > Migration Assistant. Or you can launch it through your Mac’s Utilities folder (located in Finder > Applications).

Again, if you’re still using Setup Assistant on your new Mac, you’ll encounter Migration Assistant in Step 4 right after connecting to Wi-Fi.

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?.

Everyone wants to be fit and look good, and Apple Fitness Plus makes it possible with a little more than your iPhone. Apple Fitness Plus is a subscription service that provides users with workout programs, guided meditations, and more.

Of course, you have to invest in the work yourself. Getting in shape takes effort, but there are many types of workouts, from high-intensity interval training to strength training. You can try Apple Fitness Plus for free for one month. Here's how to make the most of that time and decide if you want to continue your subscription after.

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?

Where to Find Apple Fitness Plus

Apple Fitness Plus can be found in the default Fitness app on your iPhone. All you need to do is open "Fitness" and tap on the icon in the center (labeled "Fitness+") to access the service.

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?

Once on this screen, you can choose between different types of workouts by tapping the icons on the screen. You can choose between meditation, HIIT, yoga, core, strength, Pilates, dance, cycling, treadmill, rowing, and mindful recovery.

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?

There are other options like Collections, Time to Go, Programs, Artist Spotlight, and more. The Apple Fitness Plus app is a comprehensive collection of different workout types to help everyone find their favorite activity.

How to Get the Most Out of Apple Fitness Plus

Apple Fitness Plus is all about developing and tracking the amount of effort you put in (and the results you get). There are several steps you can take to improve your results.

Keep your Apple Watch up to date

Your Apple Watch will do most of the hard work when it comes to tracking things like heart rate. Apple Watch users will get the most out of Apple Fitness Plus, especially if they update their watch to the latest OS to ensure accurate tracking. At the time of writing, watchOS 8 is the latest version.

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?

Upload your workouts

You need Wi-Fi or cellular data to access workouts. If you're going somewhere and you know you won't have Wi-Fi access, don't worry – you can download your workouts to your iPhone, iPad, or other Apple devices in advance.

Workout with TV

It can be difficult to see all the videos on the small screen of your phone. The good news is that you can access Fitness Plus through your Apple TV. You will be able to see your workouts better. If you're afraid someone will hear you exercising (and let's face it, workout videos can be crappy), just sync a pair of Airpods to your Apple TV 4K and you're good to go.

Try new workouts

If you are just getting into fitness, you may not know where to start. Apple Fitness Plus has several beginner-friendly programs. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new workouts; for example, the Collections feature of Apple Fitness Plus has programs like the 30-Day Core Challenge or Run Your First 5K to help you reach your fitness goals.

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?

Look at the recording strip

Burn Bar is a feature that allows you to compare your progress and performance with other people of the same age and weight. You can turn it off, but if you leave it on anonymously, your progress will be added to the Burn Bar competition. It is only available for HIIT workouts, treadmill, cycling and rowing.

You'll see it after two minutes of training, and it will continually update to show the last two minutes of effort. You will be rated as "Lagging", "In the Pack", "In the Middle of the Pack", "Ahead of the Pack", or "Ahead of the Pack". At the end of your workout, Burn Bar averages your performance to give you the final result.

You won't win anything by beating everyone else, but the Burn Bar is a simple motivational tool for those who love to compete.

Use your time to run

Running is a relatively easy workout suitable for beginners that can be done at any time. However, it can be difficult to get started and work your way through the initial burn until you hit a "runner's high". With advice from trainers and inspiring stories, Time To Run helps you focus on something other than pain.

Apple Fitness Plus: Is It Worth It?

Time to Run is an audio experience created across episodes, sort of like a podcast. You'll hear great music and playlists put together by trainers, as well as visuals from different locations. This is a great way to learn to control your pace.

Be consistent

Training is a marathon, not a sprint. You won't see results right away – and if the workouts are challenging but doable, that's a good indicator that they're helping. You can expect to notice a difference in how you feel after about a week, but it can take up to a month before you notice any physical changes.

Keep up your workouts and don't give up just because you don't see results right away. Try to close your activity rings every day, even on days you don't exercise.

Watch your diet

If your goal is to lose weight, Apple Fitness Plus can help you find the right calorie-burning workout, but there's just as much work to do in the kitchen. The old adage says that to be in shape you need to eat 80%, exercise 20%, and it's true. You can find quite a few apps on the App Store that will help you track your calorie intake so you can better reach your goals.

If Apple Fitness Plus seems interesting to you, you can try it for free for a month. After that, it's $9.99/month or $79.99/year. If your goal is to run a 5k or finally perfect your yoga poses this year, give it a try and you might find just the workout program you need.

The best way to Erase your iPhone data.

Are you planning to sell your iPhone, give it as a gift or exchange it for a new model? First, you should erase your iPhone to make it easier to switch to a new device. The best way to Erase your iPhone data

We do not recommend remotely wiping the iPhone you want to turn in. Apple will erase the iPhone but leave Activation Lock on because it assumes your device is lost or stolen. If Activation Lock is still active after factory resetting iPhone, contact Apple Support to request Activation Lock support.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It’s Not Connected to Wi-Fi

June 21, 2022 by feecalculator_x6rbod

How to Fix Your iPhone When It’s Not Connected to Wi-Fi.

Are you having trouble connecting your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network? If this is the case, your iPhone most likely has a software problem or your Wi-Fi connection is faulty. Of course, make sure your internet is working first.

A quick way to fix the problem is to restart your iPhone. This turns off your phone and reconnects to all your networks. If this doesn’t fix the problem and your iPhone still refuses to connect to your Wi-Fi network, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network and see if that works.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

It is also possible that you are far away from the router and your phone is not in range of a Wi-Fi network. In this case, bring your iPhone closer to the router and see if you can connect to the network. If the problem persists, here are some additional tips.

Turn On Wi-Fi on Your Apple iPhone

Wi-Fi must be enabled on your iPhone to scan for and connect to available networks. If you or someone else has disabled this setting, you will need to re-enable it to connect your phone to your preferred wireless network.

Here’s how to do it:

Open Settings on iPhone. Tap Wi-Fi in Settings. Turn on the Wi-Fi switch to enable Wi-Fi on iPhone.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

Select the network you want to connect your iPhone to.

Enter the Correct Password for Your Wi-Fi Network

Because most Wi-Fi networks are password protected, you must obtain and enter the correct password for your network on your iPhone. Otherwise, your iPhone will not be able to connect to your wireless network.

Contact your network administrator if you don’t already have a password, or find the password on your devices if you’re having trouble remembering it. Then connect your iPhone to the Wi-Fi network as follows:

Launch Settings on your iPhone.Tap Wi-Fi and select the network you want to connect to.Enter the network password and select Join.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

Your iPhone should successfully connect to the Wi-Fi network you selected.

Toggle Airplane Mode on Your iPhone

One quick way to potentially fix Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone is to turn Airplane mode on and off on your phone. This mode disables and then re-enables all network connections on your phone, fixing minor problems with your device.

Open settings on your iPhone.Turn on Airplane mode.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

Wait about ten seconds.Turn off Airplane Mode.

Turn Off Location Services on Your iPhone

Your iPhone offers location services for installed apps and system features so they can work properly. Unfortunately, this can sometimes interfere with your connections, preventing your iPhone from connecting to a Wi-Fi network.

In this case, it’s worth disabling your iPhone’s location services to see if that fixes the problem. You can turn location services back on at any time.

Open the Settings app on your iPhone.Scroll down and select Privacy.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

Select Location Services.Turn off the Location Services option at the top.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on iPhone and select a network name to connect to.

Restart Your Router/Modem

Your Wi-Fi router or modem is also equally responsible for connection issues. Your iPhone won’t connect to the wireless network, possibly due to problems with your router.

A quick way to fix most router problems is to turn it off and then on again. This disables and re-enables all the functions of your router, eliminating minor glitches.

You can turn most wireless routers off and on again by pressing the power button on the device. If that doesn’t work, go into your router’s settings in your web browser and restart your router from there. You can also use the outlet switch if you like.

Reset Network Settings on Your iPhone

If your iPhone still refuses to connect to your Wi-Fi network, try resetting your network settings to see if your issue is resolved. This will remove your current network settings, including the problematic ones, and allow you to set them up from scratch.

Keep your Wi-Fi password handy as you will need it to connect your iPhone to the network.

Open Settings on iPhone. Select General > Reset in Settings.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

Tap the Reset Network Settings option.

How to Fix Your iPhone When It's Not Connected to Wi-Fi

Authenticate with a password or other preferred method.

Once your settings are reset, go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iPhone and select the network you want to connect to. Enter the correct Wi-Fi password so that your connection request is not rejected.

Update the iOS Version on Your iPhone

Lastly, you must ensure that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Older versions can cause several issues, including Wi-Fi connectivity issues. Updating to the latest version will fix existing bugs and allow you to successfully connect to your networks.

However, you will need internet access to update your iOS version. You can use your phone’s cellular data for this.

Open the settings on your iPhone.Go to “General” > “Software Update” in the settings.

Wait while your iPhone checks for available updates.Click Download and Install if any updates are available.

Fix iPhone’s Wi-Fi Problems by Tweaking the Phone Settings

Since there are many reasons why your iPhone won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network, try each troubleshooting tip, from the simple to the more complex. Hopefully your phone will connect to any of the networks you choose. Good luck!
