So yesterday I took a photo of my daughter, which I found very funny, but I needed to add text to the photo to make it really fun for other people. I started looking for some good iPhone apps that I could use to add text to photos before sending it to family and friends. Also, I needed an app to create those captioned photos that people regularly post on sites like Imgur.
I now buy apps for iPhone and iPad all the time, so I don’t mind spending a couple of dollars on good apps. The list here will include free and paid apps, so for those of you who hate spending a dime on an app, you have a few options too! Not all paid apps are worth it, but in many cases the extra 99 cents adds value.
This is a cool app and probably my favorite. There is a free version which was all I needed for what I wanted to do. They also have a $ 1.99 pro version, which basically adds more frames, fonts, borders, and effects. I didn’t care about all these fancy things, I just wanted some nice text on the picture, so the free option is good.
Key features include the ability to quickly add text to images, change text size, font and color, resize / rotate text, add text effects, add emoji and stickers, and more. I really like this app because you can actually customize the text. Some other apps allow you to add text, but you don’t have many options. You can really go crazy with this app. On top of that, they have a lot of interesting frames and effects that I ended up using on my daughter’s photo.
FX Photo Studio
Another interesting app is FX Photo Studio, which costs $ 0.99. The advantage of this app over LiPix is ??that it has many effects and filters, more than 200 of them. Plus, you can mix and match each effect so you have a lot more control. Also, you don’t need to apply the effect to the entire image, you can apply the effect to any part of the image, which is really handy.
You can add text, of course, and while they don’t have as many fonts as the LiPix, you still have quite a few options that make the text really beautiful. The only downside to this app is that it has a lot of in-app purchases if you want to use stickers for photos or 3D effects.
Write the drawing
TypeDrawing costs $ 2, but it’s pretty cool. This is a typographic drawing app I didn’t even know existed until I found this little gem of the app. You can create truly artistic text on your photos using your finger and various controls in the app.
They have a variety of controls and settings for manipulating color, outlines, shadows, symbols, text, and more. You can get creative by adding text to your photos with this app. This is the only app where you can create unique custom text paths.
Upload type: Drawing
This is another app that I really like. They also have a free and pro version, but the free does pretty well. You can add thought bubbles, speech bubbles and text shapes to images, and create interesting photo collages, which is one of its unique features. You can also add emojis and pictures to your photos.
If you just want to add some simple text, you can do that too. It also has a nice interface and tons of controls for color, rotation, effects, and more. The free version has ads and you have to spend money on in-app purchases to remove them. You can buy the Pro version, but it costs $ 4, which is quite expensive for an app like this.
Upload note photo
I would do that
This is one of the apps where you select a title from a bank and add it to your photos instead of writing your own. Basically, it’s a bunch of ridiculous and rude captions that you can add to your photos. Personally, I don’t use it often, but many people I know like it, so I added it to the list.
Of course, it’s nice that the app is free, so even if you don’t find the signature you like, you won’t waste your money.
Download I’d Cap That
This app is free but can be purchased for $ 0.99 up to the Pro version in the app. This app is solely focused on adding text captions to images and does a pretty good job. It has 25 professional fonts you can use, the ability to resize and rotate text, various border styles, and advanced options like speech bubbles and adjustable shadows.
Comic comment creator
This is the last one I mention because with this app you can not only add text and bubbles to your images, but also create a complete comic from multiple images.
It has over 1000 stickers, 30 types of comic filters, 65 comic fonts and 11 different types of word balloons. The app is free to download, but the full version costs $ 4. This app is expensive, but you definitely feel like you are getting a lot for the money.
Is there an iPhone app that you use to write pictures that you like more than the ones I mentioned? If so, leave a comment and let us know! Enjoy!
