While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, these Chrome extension aesthetic tweaks are either extremely popular, visually appealing, or preferably both.

Midnight Train Dark Blue

This high-res theme is suitable for displays up to 2560×1440 and if you like trains or cold and gritty city images, this theme is perfect for you.

Material Incognito Dark Theme

This theme by Fiddle N is surprisingly popular, with over half a million users choosing to make their default Chrome window look like incognito mode. That’s all this theme does – exactly changes the window color to match the incognito mode colors.

We don’t know why so many people love this theme, why they want their entire Chrome experience to look incognito, or why they just don’t use dark mode, but half a million people know something we don’t. Just remember to accidentally activate incognito mode when needed!

Nordic Forest

The vast world is filled with beautiful natural landscapes, but, unfortunately, most of us never had a chance to see them in our lives. Luckily, Dimitri Mev created this unique theme showing a Scandinavian forest seen from above, partially flooded with light.

The shades of green are second to none, and the play of light gives this image a sense of depth that makes it exceptional. Dmitry also chose a reasonable solid color for the tabs.

Lone Tree

A fantastic combination of photography and digital art, titled The Lonely Tree is nestled between a dazzlingly dark and bright starry landscape, creating a magical image that will remain in your imagination even when you’re not at your computer.

However, this theme has a small drawback. This makes the forward and back arrows somewhat invisible, but since you already know where they are, it doesn’t really matter and they’ll ruin the view anyway.

Iron Man-Material Design

There’s no denying that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken the world by storm and it all started with a little movie called Iron Man. Incarnated by Robert Downey Jr., billionaire Tony Stark is on the verge of death caused by his own company’s weapons. He builds power armor for himself to protect others rather than destroy them.

You’ll find plenty of Chrome themes featuring footage from various Iron Man movies, but this theme shows off a bit more style and effort. The beautiful silhouette of Iron Man flying over the city is a subtle nod to movies and comics. Over 100,000 Iron Man fans have noticed his allure.

These are the best themes for Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac versions of Google Chrome in our opinion. However, you are more likely to use the Chrome mobile browser than the desktop version.

Unfortunately, however, there is no equivalent set of themes for Android or iOS apps. If you go to Settings > Themes, you will find that the only option is a light or dark theme. Requirements to Apply Visual Effects in Google Meet on a Computer

To use visual effects in Google Meet running on a computer, you first need to make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements.

You will need a browser that supports backgrounds, styles, and immersive effects. If you have Google Chrome version 91 or higher on a Mac, Windows or Linux computer, this will work. If you have version 91 or higher on Chrome OS, this will work too. Similarly, Microsoft Edge (Chromium) 91 or later for Windows or Mac must qualify. Safari 10.1 or higher should work too, but use Chrome just in case.

You will also need a 64-bit operating system and a browser with WebGL support.

If you’re using Chrome on a Windows or Mac computer that meets all of the above requirements but still can’t use visuals in Google Meet, you may need to turn on hardware acceleration.

How to enable hardware acceleration in Chrome

To enable hardware acceleration in Chrome on Windows or Mac, follow these steps.

In the upper right corner of the Chrome window, select the More icon (three dots).

Select Settings. In the menu on the left, select System.

Enable Use hardware acceleration when available.

Click the “Relaunch” button to restart Chrome.

When Chrome restarts, it will reopen all browser tabs that you had open when you selected Relaunch.

How to Blur the Background in Google Meet on a Computer or Chromebook

You may have heard of Google Maps plus codes but didn’t have time to learn more. Or maybe you’ve seen location plus codes when using Google Maps and wondered what they are.

Here we briefly explain what plus codes are, what they do, and how they can be used on Google Maps.

What Are Google Maps Plus Codes?

Any point on Earth can be determined using latitude and longitude coordinates. However, this long string of numbers is not always the most convenient way to find a place. With this in mind, Google’s engineering department in Zurich released an open source location code, known as the “plus code”, in 2014.

A plus code is a shortened version of traditional location coordinates. In a grid system, a plus code is created by magnifying that specific spot on the grid. Using a combination of consecutive labels for rows and columns and alphanumeric characters, you get a plus code like this: 4RXV+29 Las Vegas, Nevada.

The purpose of plus codes is to give each location, no matter how remote, a recognizable “address”. This way, those places where there are no street names or exact addresses can still be detected with high accuracy for things like delivery, emergency services, and social services.

Plus codes are free and work offline. Visit the Google Maps Plus Codes website for full details, the technology behind them, general questions, and to find your home or current location, and the code.

Find a Plus Code for a Location on the Web

You can find the plus code for a point whether you use the map view or the search function on the Google Maps website.

Viewing a Google Maps map

Visit Google Maps and use the map view to select a location. When the details window appears below, select the latitude and longitude coordinates to display.

A sidebar will open on the left with location information. Below the city and state, you will see the plus code to the right of the code logo.

Click the plus code or the copy icon to copy it to your clipboard.

Google Maps Search Function

Visit Google Maps and use the search box to find the location. You can see the plus code in the details of the search results in the sidebar.

If you don’t see the plus code there, right-click on the location on the map and select the latitude and longitude coordinates. This will copy them to the clipboard.

Paste the latitude and longitude into the search field. You’ll see the plus code in the sidebar below city and state.

Find a Plus Code for a Location in the Mobile App

Open the Google Maps app on Android or iPhone. Just like on the website, you can get a plus code for a location using the map view or the search box.

The quickest way to get the plus code for a particular place by looking at the map is to put a pin. On Android, press and hold. On iPhone, press. After you place the pin, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view the details.You should see a plus code next to the latitude and longitude. How to Use Tab Groups in Google Chrome

How to Use Tab Groups in Google Chrome.

You may need to access multiple websites for work, study, or research. Before you know it, you have so many open tabs that you can’t find the right one when you need it.

In Google Chrome, you can create tab groups to solve this problem. This allows you to assemble a set of related tabs and apply the group name. Then expand or collapse this group as needed. Let’s go through Chrome’s tab groups so you can control your tabs.

Create a New Tab Group in Chrome

Select one of the Chrome browser tabs you want to group. Then right-click the tab and select “Add tab to new group”.

Optionally, give the group a name and choose a color. While you don’t have to use a name, it’s useful if you plan to add more tabs to a group or create multiple groups.

Once you’ve created a group, select it to expand it and see the tabs inside it, or collapse it to hide them. You will notice that the tabs in a group are circled in the color of that group.

In the same way, you can create additional groups for other tabs.

Add More Tabs to a Group

You can add other open tabs to an existing group or create a new tab within a group.

Right-click the tab you want to enable, select “Add Tab to Group”, and select the group name from the pop-up menu. If you haven’t given your group a name, you’ll see the website you added to it as the name.

If you want to add a site to a group but don’t yet have an open tab for it, you can create one. Right-click a tab group and select New Tab in Group.

When a new tab opens, go to the site. It is then automatically saved as part of that group.

Move Tabs Within Groups

You may want to reorder tabs by moving a specific tab to a different group.

Right-click the tab and select “Add tab to group”. Then choose a group name from the pop-up menu, or choose New Group to create another group.

Remove a Tab From a Group

If you no longer need a tab as part of a group, you can quickly remove it. To remove it from the group and keep it open, right-click the tab and select “Remove from Group”.

To remove a tab from a group and close it, simply close the tab as usual with the X on the right side of the tab.

Reopen a Tab Group

When you create a tab group in Chrome, that group is not saved forever. This means that when you close Chrome, these groups disappear. However, there is a way to re-open a tab group.

Select the “Search in tabs” arrow in the top right corner of the Chrome window, where you can search for open tabs. Expand the Recently Closed section if necessary.

You will then see all the groups you just closed. Select one to reopen the group and all the tabs in it.

Keep in mind that this only works for groups of tabs that you have recently closed. The list of recently closed tabs fills up quickly as you open and close more tabs.

More Tab Group Actions

There are a few other things you can do with Chrome Tab Groups. You can add or change the name and choose a different color.

Alternatively, you can right-click a group and select one of the following from the drop-down list:

New Tab in Group. Create a new tab in an existing group as described above. Ungroup: Removes all tabs from the group, but leaves them open. Close Group: Closes all tabs in the group and deletes the group. Move group to new window: Moves the entire group of tabs to a separate window and keeps them grouped.

What was once achieved with chrome://flags or Chrome extensions is now a built-in tab groups feature, giving you a great way to organize multiple tabs.

If you have a lot of bookmarks, it’s worth organizing them so you can easily find what you need. We will look at how to manage bookmarks in Google Chrome.

When you find a website you want to visit later, you can bookmark a link to that site. The Google Chrome web browser provides easy ways to create, edit, organize, and delete bookmarks on desktop and mobile devices.

How to Add Bookmarks in Google Chrome

To add a bookmark in Chrome, do the following:

Open Chrome and navigate to the website.Click the star icon next to the website’s URL in Chrome’s omnibox address bar.

That’s all you need to do to add a new bookmark to the PC or Android version of Chrome. The keyboard shortcut for adding a bookmark in Windows and Linux is Ctrl + D.

If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, tap More (three-dot icon) and then Bookmark (plus icon). Mac desktop users can use the keyboard shortcut Command + d.

How to View Google Chrome Bookmarks

Bookmarked pages are automatically added to the bookmarks bar in the Chrome browser.

To turn the bookmarks bar on or off, click the More icon (3 dots) to the right of the omnibox. Then choose Bookmarks > Show Bookmarks Bar or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl/Command + Shift + B.

If you’re using Chrome on a computer, another way to find your bookmarks is to choose More (three-dot icon) > Bookmarks. All bookmarks added to the bookmarks bar are displayed in the list. Select the desired bookmark.

Another way to view your bookmarks in Chrome on desktop is through the sidebar.

At the top of the Chrome window, select the sidebar icon.

Select the Bookmarks tab to view your bookmarks.

How to Edit Bookmarks in Chrome

To change or rename bookmarks in Chrome on a computer, use the Chrome Bookmark Manager.

Click the More icon (3 dots) and then choose Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl/Command + Shift + O.

In the Bookmark Manager, click the More icon next to the bookmark you want to edit.Select Edit.In the Edit Bookmark pop-up window, change the name or URL of the bookmark.

Select Save.

To edit a bookmark on an Android device, tap More > Bookmarks. Then, to the right of the bookmark you want to edit, click More > Edit.

On iOS devices, tap More > Bookmarks, tap and hold the bookmark you want to edit, then tap Edit Bookmark. When you’re done, click Done.

How to Delete Bookmarks in Chrome

To delete a bookmark in Chrome on a computer, use the bookmark manager. Remember that once you delete a bookmark, it will be gone forever – or at least until you add it again. It is not possible to restore deleted bookmarks.

In the upper right corner of Chrome, click the More icon (3 dots).Choose Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.Click the More icon to the right of the bookmark you want to delete. Select Delete.

On an Android device, tap More > Bookmarks. Then, to the right of the bookmark you want to delete, tap More > Delete. To delete multiple bookmarks, press and hold each bookmark you want to delete, and then touch the Delete icon (Trash).

2 – To delete multiple bookmarks at once, tap Select at the bottom of the screen. Then tap the bookmarks you want to delete, swipe left and tap Delete.

How to Organize Your Chrome Bookmarks

If you have many bookmarks, you can create folders to organize them. To create a folder in Chrome on your computer, use the bookmark manager.

In the upper right corner of Chrome, click the More icon (3 dots).Choose Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.In the Bookmark Manager, select the More icon (3 dots).

Select Add new folder.

You can also right-click the bookmarks bar in Chrome on a computer and select “Add Folder”. Name the new folder and click Save.

To create a new bookmark folder in Chrome on Android, first open the Chrome app and tap the More icon, then Bookmarks. Then, to the right of the bookmark you want to move to the new folder, click More > Move To > New Folder.

To create a new bookmark folder in Chrome on iPhone or iPad, tap More > Bookmarks > Choose Folder. Click New Folder at the bottom of the screen.

If you want to move an existing bookmark to an existing folder on your computer, use the bookmark manager.

In the upper right corner of Chrome, click the More icon (3 dots).Choose Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.Drag the bookmark to a folder in the folder list on the left.

Expand the folder list to see all the subfolders you’ve created, including the Mobile Bookmarks folder, which is created automatically if you’ve linked your Google account between your computer and phone.

How to Import and Export Bookmarks in Google Chrome

You can import bookmarks and settings into Chrome from most browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox.

Open Chrome on your computer.Click More in the upper right corner.Choose Bookmarks > Import bookmarks and settings.Select your web browser from the drop-down list. Check the boxes next to the items you want to import.

Click the Import button.

To export bookmarks to Chrome, use the bookmark manager.
