How to Get OneDrive to Stop Emailing Memories.

If you use OneDrive to back up your photo library, it regularly emails you memories – images and videos taken on the same day in previous years. Here’s how to turn them off on Windows, Android, iPhone, and iPad.

While these memories sound like a good idea, they can clutter up your inbox, distract attention, and even trigger bad memories. In addition to emails, you will also receive notifications on your desktop and mobile devices. If you don’t want to receive emails and “This Day” notifications from OneDrive, it’s easy enough to turn them off.

How to Get OneDrive to Stop Emailing Memories

Disable OneDrive’s “On This Day” Emails

Instead of completely unsubscribing from OneDrive emails and potentially missing out on important account-related messages, you can specifically instruct Microsoft’s file sharing service to stop sending you “On This Day” messages. To do this, you need to access the OneDrive web app at OneDrive.com.

1. Visit OneDrive.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.

2. Click the gear-shaped settings icon in the upper right corner of the browser tab and select Options.

3. Select Notifications from the sidebar.

4. Uncheck the box next to Memories available on this day.

5. Select Save.

Note. If you try to sign in to OneDrive.com on your mobile device, it might automatically launch the OneDrive app instead (if you have it installed). Try logging in after switching your browser to desktop mode to prevent this.

Disable OneDrive’s “On This Day” Notifications on PC

PCs typically receive “This Day” notifications from the OneDrive app that comes preinstalled with Windows 11 and 10. If you want to turn them off, you must turn off a specific setting in your OneDrive settings. If this does not help, you need to change the corresponding registry key using the registry editor.

Turn off “On This Day” notifications in OneDrive settings

1. Select the OneDrive icon on the taskbar (to the right of the taskbar).

2. Select the gear icon for help and settings. Then select Settings.

3. Click the “Settings” tab.

4. Uncheck “When OneDrive offers a new collection of my photos and videos”.

5. Click OK.

Note. In older versions of OneDrive, you may see an option that says When Memories are Available On This Day instead. Clear the checkbox to disable “This Day” notifications.

Disable “This Day” notifications via the system registry

1. Press Windows + R to open the Run window.

2. Type regedit and click OK.

3. Copy and paste (or type) the following path into the address bar at the top of the registry editor window and press Enter:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOneDriveAccountsPersonal

4. Select a personal folder in the sidebar. Then double-click the OnThisDayPhotoNotificationDisabled registry entry on the right side of the window.

5. Enter the hexadecimal value 1 and click OK.

6. Close the registry editor window and restart your computer.

Note. If the registry entry in step 4 is missing, right-click Personal and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name it OnThisDayPhotoNotificationDisabled and save it with a hex value of 1.

Disable OneDrive’s “On This Day” Notifications on Mobile

On This Day notifications can also appear on iOS and Android smartphones, but you can turn them off without turning off all OneDrive notifications like you would on a PC. Just note that the process is slightly different on the iOS and Android versions of the OneDrive app.

Turn off “On This Day” notifications on iOS

1. Open OneDrive and tap your profile picture in the top left corner of the screen.

2. Click “Settings”.

3. Click Notifications.

4. Turn off the switches next to OneDrive creating a photo album for me and I have memories of that day.

5. Close the OneDrive settings screen.

Turn off On This Day notifications on Android

1. Open the OneDrive app and go to the Me tab.

2. Click “Settings”.

3. Click “Personal”

4. Turn off the switches next to I have memories of this day and OneDrive will create a photo album for me.

Block Out Your Memories

OneDrive “On This Day” emails can be quickly and easily disabled. However, be sure to do so by also blocking “On This Day” notifications. If you start missing your daily portion of OneDrive Memories, you can turn them back on just as quickly.

Disable or Uninstall Bloatware and Adware

Unlike the iPhone, Android devices are more vulnerable to malware attacks. If your Android smartphone is running a non-standard Android OS, it is likely that the manufacturer, your network provider, or marketing companies have pre-installed malware and adware.

If your phone displays random pop-up ads on the home screen or in any application, identify the malware/adware that is causing the problem and remove it.

Use third-party app cleaners or file management apps to remove malware and adware. Alternatively, you can find them manually in the settings menu of the Android app. Performing a malware scan with antivirus and security applications can also help block pop-ups caused by malware.

We recommend that you boot into safe mode before uninstalling applications responsible for pop-ups. In safe mode, third-party applications will not run on your device, making it easier to remove malware.

Press and hold the phone’s power button to open the power menu. After that, touch and hold the Power Off option and select OK when prompted to Restart in Safe Mode.

Update Your Devices

The benefits of updating your device’s operating system cannot be overstated. Many software updates/releases contain security definitions that control pop-ups and ads. So always make sure you have the latest OS on your device.

Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install the latest iOS update available for your iPhone or iPad.

How to Stop Pop-Ups on Android and iPhone

Go to Settings > System > Advanced > System Update and tap Check for updates to update your Android device.

Prevention is the Best Fix

If you have successfully blocked pop-ups on your device, make sure you prevent them from happening again in the future. Do not download or install apps outside of the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you can’t find the app you need in your device’s app store, install it directly from the developer’s official website.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

October 4, 2021 by feecalculator_x6rbod

How to stop your phone from listening to you.how to get google to stop listening.stop listening to my conversations.stop your android phone from listening to you.

While it is convenient to give your phone voice commands and automatically answer queries, this convenience comes with serious privacy breaches. This means that Google needs to constantly listen to you through the microphone in order to know when to answer.

If the idea of transferring conversations from your home or work to the company over the Internet causes you some concern, you are not alone. Fortunately, you can still control your Google account and your device. There are ways to update both so that Google isn’t listening to you all the time.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

How Google Is Listening to You

If it surprises you that Google is always listening to you, Google offers acceptable reasons for keeping the microphone on your mobile device open.

  • The OK Google feature on your phone should recognize the words “Google good” when you say them.
  • Google Assistant should recognize whenever you ask for help.
  • Google Maps should activate voice recognition when you say “Ok Google”.
  • Android Auto also activates voice recognition when you say “Ok Google”.

It may make you legal, but for many it is still unacceptable. And Google does this by forcing you to “approve” active listening when installing those apps. Most people are oblivious to the permissions they give these apps.

Where Are My Google Recordings?

You can find out what Google is listening to by opening Google records in your account.

1. In a web browser, go to Google My Activities and make sure you are signed in to your Google account. Scroll down to the Application and Web Search History section and select Manage Actions. Then select “Filter by Date and Product”.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

2. A filter window with a list of parameters will open. Scroll down and check the box next to Voice and Sound. Select Apply.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

This will filter your activity history only to voice and audio recordings recorded by Google.

How to Stop Google From Listening to You Constantly

There are several ways to prevent Google from listening to you all the time. One is to completely disable active listening on your Google account. However, this also requires you to trust Google to stop listening to all apps.

Another approach is to force active listening to stop and remove permissions for google apps. In this article, you will walk through each method to choose the one that you think best protects your privacy.

Disable Google Voice History

The easiest way to stop Google listening immediately is to simply turn off saving audio recordings to your Google account.

1. In your web browser, go to My Google Activities and in the right pane, select App & Web Search History.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

2. The Application History and Web Search page will open. Uncheck the box next to Enable Audio Recordings.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

If this setting is disabled, any voice commands you send to Google Assistant, Google Search, or Google Maps will not be logged into your Google account.

Note. This only means that incoming records are not saved. This is not to say that Google isn’t always listening to you. In order to turn off any eavesdropping on the part of Google, you need to take more drastic action, as described below.

Prevent Google Assistant from listening to you

The main app that listens to you the most is Google Assistant. This app is ready to answer your “Ok Google” statement.

You can turn off the use of the microphone in this application so that it listens to you all the time.

To do this:

1. Open the Android settings menu and tap Google.

2. In the next menu, select “Settings for Google Apps”.

3. Select “Search”, “Assistant & Voice”.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

4. In the next settings menu, select “Voice”.

5. From the Voice menu, select Voice Match.

6. On the Voice Match screen, turn off the switch to the right of Hey Google.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

This will disable Google Assistant from listening when you say “Hey Google”. Keep in mind that you will have to manually tap the microphone icon in the Google Assistant app to perform voice commands. However, if privacy is your main concern, this is a small price to pay.

Don’t let Android Auto listen to you

Another app that listens for voice commands is Android Auto. This app has a setting that allows you to disable this feature so that the app doesn’t always listen to you.

1. Launch Android Auto (phone screen version) and tap the menu icon.

2. From the Android Auto menu, select Settings.

3. From the Settings menu, select Hey Google.

4. In the next settings window, turn off the toggle switch to the right of Hey Google.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

This will disable Android Auto from being constantly monitored when you say “Ok Google”. Again, keep in mind that you will need to manually trigger commands in Android Auto as you will no longer be able to trigger commands with your voice alone.

Prevent Google Maps from listening to you

If you’ve never checked the Google Assistant setting in the Google Maps app on your phone, then Google Maps can listen to you for voice commands as well. You can turn off this feature in the Google Maps app.

1. Launch Google Maps on your phone and tap the profile picture icon in the upper right corner to open the profile menu.

2. Select “Settings” to open the Google Maps settings menu.

3. Click “Navigation Settings” and in the next window select “Google Assistant Settings”.

4. On the Drive Mode screen, make sure the switch to the right of Drive Mode is off.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

This will disable Google Assistant activation inside Google Maps. Google Maps won’t listen to you unless you manually tap the microphone icon on the home screen to trigger a voice command.

Prevent Google from listening to you

Another method you can use to turn off Google from listening to you is to turn off listening on the Google app on your phone.

1. Open the Android settings menu and select “Apps”.

2. Scroll to and tap the Google app in the list of apps.

3. On the Google App Information page, select Permissions.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

Next, you’re going to turn off microphone access for the Google app so that it can’t passively listen to you through your phone.

4. In the app’s permission menu, select Microphone from the list.

5. On the microphone permissions screen, select the Deny radio button.

How to stop your phone from listening to you

The Google app will no longer have access to your phone’s microphone. You can rest assured that Google will never be able to listen to you through this application.

Keep Your Conversations Private From Google

Google may not have any nefarious intentions at all for all the audio they collect from thousands of users. But if you really don’t want your own conversations to become part of this huge library of audio information, at least you now have an arsenal of tools to close that door for Google forever.

Pokemon Go is a unique game that has enjoyed widespread popularity since its release. Every day, new users embark on their own Pokémon journeys.

Pokemon Go is a simple concept, but the average player may not know many of the details. In this article, you will find some of the basic Pokemon Go tips and tricks that you can use to get the most out of your game.

Pokemon go tips and tricks 2021

1. Trade Pokemon for Candies

As you progress further in Pokemon Go, you’re sure to pick up quite a few Pokemon that you don’t need. Instead of just letting them take up space, you can give these Pokémon to the professor and get some candy in return.

Pokemon go tips and tricks 2021

Candy is important and extremely useful in Pokemon Go as you need it to power the Pokemon you plan to use.

2. Focus on XP Before You Power Up Pokemon

If you are low on experience, it will take a lot more candy to power up your Pokémon, and so it might be wise to wait until you have more experience.

Some quick ways to get a lot of experience initially are to catch Pokémon (even better if you can nail them with a great throw), interact with new PokéStops, add friends and send them gifts. Adding friends is especially helpful because you can gain a lot of experience every time you level up your friendship with someone. When you become Best Friends, you get the Lucky Egg, which, when used, can double any experience you gain.

3. Pokestops

Another important feature of Pokemon Go is the PokéStops, which are real landmarks in the area you live in in real life. At these stops, you can spin their sign to receive rewards. By rotating the sign, you can skip the mini-game that follows the exit and get all of your rewards.

Pokemon go tips and tricks 2021

You can also claim rewards from PokéStops several times; you just need to wait a few minutes between each attempt.

4. Consider What Gyms to Take Over

When you capture Pokemon Gyms in the game, you choose the Pokemon that will protect it. Every time players try to take over the gym and your Pokémon defeats them, you get a few coins in return.

However, you can be careful about which gyms you choose and where they are. For example, if you try to take over a popular gym that is often overrun, you won’t get much in return, especially if you are using a strong Pokémon for defense that is quickly defeated. Conversely, a gym that is rarely visited probably won’t give you a lot of coins either, although you can probably defend it for longer.

Instead, aim for mid-traffic gyms and defend them with a strong Pokémon. That way, even if a large number of people try to take it over, you can keep it with you for a while.

5. Pokemon Types

Just like in real Pokémon games, Pokémon types also play a role in Go. However, the types of matches are slightly different. Below is a list of types and what they are strong against:

  • Water: Fire, Stone, Earth
  • Fire: Grass, Ice, Beetle, Steel
  • Grass: Stone, Water, Earth
  • Ghost: Psychic
  • Steel: Ice, Fairy, Stone
  • Battle: Stone, Steel, Ice, Dark, Normal < / li>
  • Error: Grass, Dark, Psychic
  • Electric: Flying, Water
  • Dark: Psychic, Phantom
  • Fairy: Darkness, Combat, Dragon
  • Flying: Fight, Grass, Bug
  • Earth: Electric, Fire, Poison, Steel, Stone
  • Ice: Flying, Earth, Grass, Dragon < / li>
  • Poison: Grass, Fairy
  • Psychic: Fight, Poison
  • Stone: Fire, Bug, Ice, Flying
  • Normal: No < / li>
  • Dragon: Dragon

6. Remote Raids

When COVID-19 took off in 2020, Pokemon Go announced remote raids that allow you to join a raid without being in the area. During the raid, you defeat the boss Pokemon along with other players. This usually requires a Raid Pass.

Pokemon go tips and tricks 2021

By doing remote raids, you can get some rare Pokémon without having to visit the physical location where the raids can take place.

7. Find Nearby Pokemon

You can use the Pokemon Locator feature to get an expanded view of where you are and the Pokemon in that area. Then you can focus on finding the Pokémon you want.

Pokemon go tips and tricks 2021

8.Hatch Eggs In Vehicles

When you hatch eggs, the app only counts the distance traveled and ignores whether you have passed or not. As a result, it is much easier to hatch eggs when you are in the car, bus, bike, or on a run.

9. Evolve Eevee By Naming Them

If you have Eevee, a Pokémon can go through several different stages of evolution. The easiest way to turn Eevee into the desired evolution in Pokemon Go is to give them names before they evolve. Below is a list of evolutions and what you need to give your Eevee to get them:

  • Umbreon: Tamao
  • Sylveon: Kira
  • < li> Glaceon: “Rea”
  • Espeon: “Sakura”
  • Leafeon: “Linnea”
  • Flareon: “Pyro”
  • Vaporeon: Rainer
  • Jolteon: Sparky.

Pokemon Go can be so much more fun if you have these tips in your arsenal. If you have additional tricks, share them in the comments below.

How to Stop Cloud Sync in Lightroom Desktop And Mobile

How to Stop Cloud Sync in Lightroom Desktop And Mobile.

Lightroom Mobile is without a doubt one of the best mobile phone editors for Android and iOS. With all the heavy editing tools and stuff, the most frustrating thing about this is cloud sync. It runs in the background, deleting your previews. And when you open the app again, you have no idea where the images went. I understand that the entire Adobe Suite is built on the Adobe cloud environment. But it would be better if they made it possible to stop cloud syncing. So, here’s how to stop cloud syncing in both Lightroom for desktop and mobile.

How to turn off Cloud Sync in Lightroom Desktop

If you don’t need cloud functionality, you’re better off using the old classic version of Lightroom 2015. But if you’re using Lightroom 2019, there is a way to stop cloud syncing in the Creative Cloud app.

Open the Adobe Creative Cloud app, go to the Creative Cloud tab and go to the Files tab.

How to Stop Cloud Sync in Lightroom Desktop And Mobile

On the Files tab, you can turn off Creative Cloud Sync by unchecking the corresponding checkbox. This will disable cloud sync and files will not be deleted locally.

How to Stop Cloud Sync in Lightroom Desktop And Mobile

How to turn off Cloud Sync in Lightroom Mobile

Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off cloud sync in Lightroom on mobile. But as always, there is a workaround and you can use a third party app. Since no editing tool in Lightroom Mobile is internet-dependent, we can safely block the internet for the app to stop syncing to the cloud.

To block the Internet for the Lightroom mobile app, you can do so by turning off Internet access permission in the Settings section, or by using a third-party app. The latter comes in handy when you need granular control over Wi-Fi and mobile data.

Since Android doesn’t natively allow users to restrict internet access for an app, you’ll need a firewall. I prefer NetGuard, a non-root firewall, but any firewall application will work. Once you’ve installed the app, open it and first it will ask you for permission to create a VPN. Android firewalls usually work by creating a local VPN. You can read our article on Best Android Firewall Apps to learn more about Android Firewall Apps. After you grant the required permission, you will be presented with a list of installed applications as shown below.

How to Stop Cloud Sync in Lightroom Desktop And Mobile

From the installed app screen, navigate to the Lightroom app and tap the Wi-Fi and cellular icon. This will disable Internet access to Lightroom over both Wi-Fi and cellular.

How to Stop Cloud Sync in Lightroom Desktop And Mobile

After you’ve turned off the internet, open the Lightroom app. Now when you import photos into Lightroom, cloud sync will stop working. This way, Lightroom won’t delete the photos, and you’ll get a full-resolution preview.

The downside of this is that you will inflate the phone’s memory with files and edit settings. In addition, you will not be able to directly post the uploaded files on social networks, since Internet access is blocked. So, for every post on Instagram, you will need to export a photo and share it from your phone gallery.

Final Words

Lightroom is without a doubt one of the best editing tools for mobile devices. One of the best features is seamless cloud sync across devices. If you have multiple devices with Lightroom installed, cloud sync makes sense. For everyone else, this is how you can prevent your images or previews from being deleted locally.
