Like everyone else, I like good deals. And if you’re anything like me, you do most of your Amazon shopping. So other days I was on Amazon looking for a new MacBook since my old Lenovo laptop gave up on me and I realized that prices had changed again.

Amazon prices fluctuate a lot. To solve this problem, I went into exploration mode and came up with 5 price tracking tools to get Amazon price drops alerts. By the end of the year, this could save you a lot of money.

1. Kepa

Keepa is one of the oldest and smartest price tracking tools for Amazon. Although the layout is rather bland, Keepa offers a suite of advanced tools such as price history charts, price drop and stock alerts, trade alert, and browser add-ons for Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and Opera.

You can search for products in the Deals section by category, range and sales rating. You can also search for products by percentage reduction range, which will allow you to select a percentage range. For example, I searched for a Macbook and selected 10%, and it came back with ads where the price dropped by 10%. Right below it is the Drop Range function, which works the same way, but in dollars, not percentages. You can see the historical price of any product in the form of charts.

In addition to the US, Keepa also monitors transactions and sends price cut alerts to international sites such as the European and Asian markets. Keepa is considered one of the best price tracking tools for getting price drop alerts via email, Twitter, Facebook, Telegram and RSS. To be notified of price reductions by email, simply check the item.

A browser add-on will make things easier by allowing you to view price history right on the product page. Other notable features include an Android app and the ability to import wishlists.

Bottom line: Keepa is a great way to track price drops, trades, and get alerts across multiple platforms. It has an app and it works in most browsers, but the data presentation could be better.

2. Sentences Sentences sentences

Well, I guess the founder of this site loves a good desert safari. Forget the name, the site is great at tracking Amazon product prices and submitting deals straight to your inbox. The browser add-on is called Camelizer and is available in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari.

This works very similarly to how Keepa works. You can search for products or use a browser add-on to view price history charts on the product page itself. The Dessert King will also notify you via Twitter of a price cut for your favorite product. It’s called Camel Concierge, but unlike Keepa, it only works on Twitter.

Other notable features are Amazon locales, category filtering, wishlist sync, and product search by entering the Amazon URL directly into the search bar. What it lacks is the ability to filter by price and percentage range. CamelCamelCamel displays the lowest and highest price separately in green and red fonts, making it easy to determine if the current price is good or not.

Smartphone users can use this Siri shortcut or this Android app which uses CamelCamelCamel data to get Amazon price history.

Bottom line: CamelCamelCamel loses to Keepa only in terms of features like push notifications and integrations, but where it does best is UI and presentation. It’s easier to use and offers the ability to filter the product by date range, and I love how it shows the highest and lowest prices with dates.

3. Search the jungle

The site was aptly named Jungle Search. Pairs well with the product forest that Amazon has become. Jungle Search is a relatively simple search engine that takes you to the Amazon site when you hit the enter button.

You can filter products by category or search for them using a relatively simple search form. Enter the product name, company name, minimum and maximum discount percentage, minimum and maximum price, and customer reviews.

When you start your search, the Amazon website will open in a new tab showing products based on your search criteria. Needless to say, this impressed me less.

Bottom line: After using Keepa and CamelCamelCamel, the jungle search did not meet my expectations. It looks like a forgotten project.

4. Honey

Honey is a reliable Amazon price tracking tool. Honey is available as a browser add-on for Chrome and Firefox. The Droplist feature allows you to receive email notifications when the prices of your favorite products drop. After installing the add-on, when you visit Amazon.com, you will see a new “Add to droplist” button with which you can add products to your droplist. If the price drops by more than 5%, you will receive an email. When you add a product, you will have the opportunity to watch the product for 30, 60 or 90 days. Price history works the same way when you can see prices for the last 30, 60 or 120 days.

Bottom line: I liked Honey because it is easier to use thanks to the Add to Droplet button that is added to Amazon product pages. Makes the whole process much easier. The date range is quite limited and I hope they fix it in the future.

Shopping online can be awesome if you know what you are doing, but it can be troubling if you don’t understand the deals, price cuts and offers that are constantly changing, whether the holiday season is or not.

I liked Keepa because it allows me to filter products by price / percentage range and is available on multiple platforms. It is also the only tool that offers an app and sends push notifications through many different apps. CamelCamelCamel, on the other hand, benefits from better user interface and data presentation, which speeds up the process.

If you enjoy surfing Amazon, you’ll love Honey’s Droplist feature, which makes adding products easy. At the end of the day, it depends on your buying behavior, and you can use any or all three as you like.

Is Copyscape Premium Still Worth it? We Tried 7 Online Plagiarism Checker Tools.

While Copyscape appears to be the best site for checking if your content has been removed or published elsewhere without permission, there are other tools out there that are just as good, or so they claim.

We use Copyscape a lot on TechWiser, but as it turns out, they’ve been changing prices since April 2018. So instead of a fixed price of 5 cents per article, you now pay 3 cents per search for 200 words and an additional 1 cent per 100 words. This means that a 1200 word article will cost you $ 0.13 instead of $ 0.5. For us, this is more than 100% price increase. So, we decided to take a look at some of the Copyscape alternatives to see if Copyscape is still worth the money.

Experience

To test these online plagiarism checker tools, I will intentionally write a paragraph in which some parts of it will be copied from other websites, just to see how good these tools are for checking my … uh … plagiarism …

To be consistent and fair to plagiarism checkers, I will create and use 5 data samples that were borrowed from various well-known sources. The content has been “ineptly” rewritten to trick these tools.

To make things easier, I’ll post screenshots of just one of them. Service providers will be rated on a scale of 0 to 5, where the higher the better. So a 4/5 rating means the plagiarism checker was able to identify 4 out of 5 samples for plagiarism.

The Plagiarism Checker Test Online

1. grammar

Grammarly, a well-known name in the industry, also has a plagiarism checker. You can use the free version, but then you will be prompted to sign up for a 7-day trial. Plans start at $ 29.99 per month. When I entered the above text, Grammarly didn’t like it.

The first thing Grammarly checked was plagiarism and found the source. I tried again with a different sample and Grammarly passed it, Copyscape didn’t.

Grammarly claims they compare snippets of text from billions of pages! It is a fairly well-known site that has gained a lot of recognition over the past few years.

Grammarly seems to be only good when your source is a large site that isn’t good enough.

2. The refined checker

Another widely recommended and completely free online plagiarism checker tool. Duplichecker’s user interface isn’t the cleanest of all, and the home page was jam-packed with ads. This allows you to search for a maximum of 1000 words in one search.

The site claims to be “100% accurate” for plagiarism checks. Didn’t find anything during my test. Even when you copy and paste 100% without any edits, the site did not work as advertised.

The site is free, it is used and recommended by many writers and bloggers. The question is, how many of these writers are actually doing their job?

3. Small SEO tools

Small SEO tools offer a range of tools that bloggers and webmasters alike will appreciate, such as image compression, DA checker, spell checker, backlink checker, and so on. The list is quite long. They also have a plagiarism checker that is recommended in many reviews on the Internet.

However, the results were poor. Once again, I was disappointed to see that this tool gave my apparently plagiarized content 100% pure information. I tried again, this time with no changes, and again got the same results.

The tool will also allow you to download text from Google Drive and Dropbox. The maximum number of words is 3000 per search. It got me thinking how good their other tools are.

PaperRater is a cloud-based grammar and plagiarism checker with a free trial available to test the service. The free plan will allow you to check no more than 5 pages 10 times a month. The premium version costs $ 7.95 and allows you to check 20 pages with 25 plagiarism checks per month. The premium version also offers other features such as faster processing, no ads and matching text display.

My work got 100% “originality” 3 out of 5 times, and NYTimes articles got a clean slate. I used the free version, but I don’t recommend it to anyone based on personal experience.

PlagScan is said to be used by over 1,000 institutions and 1 million people on their website. I have no doubt about it because it is recommended on many sites and blogs. They have a plan exclusively for large organizations.

PlagScan is one tool that works, but not always. The NYTimes sample got 100% original rating, but it did work with 3 samples from relatively small sites. I was asked to create an account before I could download the report.

He came back one day with a different source from the one I was using – Times of India, one of the largest news sites in India. And it was a copy job without modification.

A free account will give you 20 credits or a 20,000 word check for free. Private plans start at $ 5.99 for 26 pages after that. Not really cheap.

6. Plagium

Plagium will give you 1 free search per day, after which you’ll have to shell out $ 0.04 for a quick search and $ 0.08 for a deep search. Anyone who is serious about plagiarism would like a thorough search. To be honest, the plan baffled me. I used the free search after registering a free account. Supports up to 5000 characters.

Plagium found another source, Wikipedia, instead of the original source. I checked the original link which was not clickable and showed an error and the page had a list of news published in 2007 while I was using the recent one. Plagium worked, but I was unhappy. It had to go back to the original source that I used. Only worked twice, for sure.

7. UniCheck (formerly UnPlag)

UniCheck has a clean interface, unlike other plagiarism checkers I’ve tested. No ads to distract you. The free version of the online plagiarism checker will allow you to search 5 times, after which the price will start at $ 3 for 10 pages. Here are the results:

Once the tool was stuck at 30% for more than half an hour and there was no way to interrupt the process. It was unpleasant to say the least.

UniCheck is back with the article source and a few additional results. Immediately after you get to the site, you will feel professionalism. The user interface, results, and registration process are working fine. The site is really slow and can’t match Copyscape in speed and simplicity. On the other hand, it worked as well as Copyscape where it mattered.

Conclusion: Online Plagiarism Checker

Copyscape is still the best online plagiarism checker with a clean and efficient user interface, ad-free and flawless customer support. I know this because as a blogger, it’s part of my arsenal of blogging tools.

I liked UniCheck for the same reasons. It works as advertised, has a clean user interface with no ads, and I’ve heard good reviews of their customer support from some of my writing friends. If you work with thousands of pages, UniCheck is a cheaper solution without compromising on quality.

If you work with long articles of over 1000 words, then UniCheck will save you money as their best plan offers 2000 pages for $ 140, which is $ 0.07 per page. Copyscape, as we saw earlier, is going to be expensive because of the long forms involved.

This online tool helps you find duplicate content on the internet. Useful if you are hiring a content writer or want to check if someone is stealing your published content. However, both of these services are paid.

In the free version, you can check only published articles for plagiarism (there is no way to copy and paste the text).

And guess what, the premium version is pretty cheap (0.05 cents per post regardless of post length). So for $ 5 a month, you can check 100 articles, which is fine for a medium sized blog.

Bottom line: it’s better to switch to a paid service.

Another simple tool for using your article title correctly. For example – AP style, Chicago manual, etc. Just copy and paste the title and it will get a new name.

Click the orange button to launch the free recorder. A small box will appear above the button to indicate that the recorder is starting up.

In the Record field, select screen recording, webcam recording, or both. The maximum recording time for the free version is 15 minutes. If you need to create a longer video, you can update it by clicking the blue link.

Select the video size for your recording from the options or use the up and down arrows.

You can also adjust the video size by dragging the sides or corner of the recording window.

The Voiceover option shows the standard microphones that Screencast-O-Matic automatically detects as installed on your computer.

Computer audio for the free version only records your spoken narration. If you want to record any additional background sounds from your computer, you need to update.

Click “Settings” to change settings.

When you’re ready to record, press the red button. You will notice a 3 second countdown.

The frame around the recording location on the screen will change from a black dotted line to red to indicate that recording has started.

If you want to focus on another part of the screen, press pause, move the video frame, and press Record again to continue.

When you’re done recording, tap Done. Screencast-O-Matic will redirect you to the video manager.

With the free recorder, you can trim the beginning or end of a video by dragging and dropping the strips at the bottom to the length you want.
